Brand Identity and Product Design
Situation:
CHILL was on the verge of launching a revolutionary nicotine vapour product aimed at helping individuals quit smoking by eliminating nicotine altogether. They required a compelling brand identity and packaging design to resonate with their mission and appeal to a broad audience.
Task:
My role was to conceptualise the brand and lead the creative direction for the graphic designers, focusing on developing a distinctive brand identity and impactful packaging design for the product.
Action:
Taking into consideration CHILL’s pioneering goal of introducing a zero-nicotine device and their mission to eradicate nicotine addiction, I proposed the brand name CHILL ZER0 to emphasise the zero-nicotine aspect. Our branding strategy centered around powerful flavor profiles, which we represented through vibrant and evocative colors.
I collaborated closely with the graphic design team to ensure that every element of the brand identity, from logo design to colour schemes, reflected the essence of CHILL ZER0. The packaging design was meticulously crafted to stand out on shelves, utilising high-impact graphics and bold typography to communicate the product’s unique benefits. We also integrated sustainable packaging materials to align with the brand’s commitment to health and wellness.
Result:
The result was a highly successful packaging design that garnered praise from leading convenience and supermarket chains across the UK. CHILL ZER0 is now stocked in over 1,000 stores nationwide, including prominent retailers such as Boots, WHSmith, and Morrisons. The cohesive and striking brand identity has not only enhanced shelf presence but also reinforced CHILL's mission to support smokers in their journey to quit nicotine for good.
